Sock Puppets
by Smith Micro Software, Inc.
Sock Puppets provide each student with a stage to perform. Students can learn conversation skills and re-create stories they read. The Socks automatically animate to the voice of each student, making the app easy to use for several grades. This app is great for students to create performances on their own or to work together in pairs. When creating a puppet show, each student will choose their puppets, place, and props.

The Sock Puppet+ version includes all of the in-store purchases, which includes more puppets, backgrounds, and props. This version also includes the ability to save the final movie to your photo library. For this demonstration, we will be using the free version of Sock Puppets.

How It Works?
Sock puppet takes you step by step through setting up your scene and then recording your presentation.

Troubleshooting
Students can often forget to switch between each puppet when recording their show. This will leave the animation limited to just one puppet, and the movie will not make sense. You can avoid this by reviewing their show before they save it. Students can re-record their movie by hitting the record button.

When students begin recording, the classroom can become very noisy and louder students’ voices will appear on other students’ movies. Taking turns recording or spreading out over the class room will help to avoid this issue.
